PROTI  FF-R Tech Introduction




Among all the motorcycle aftermarket parts, the state of the art made of titanium is always the most desired one for customers. Basically the attribute of titanium differs from its alloys.



The pure titanium is also called GRADE 2 TITANIUM; its mass hardness is between iron and aluminum, almost as strong as carbon steel; the strength ratio of weight is 2 times than iron, 6 times than aluminum; it is extremely a solid and strong metal.
A better anti-acid performance than iron; the anti-corrosion performance is only inferior to platinum.

Titanium is recognized for its high strength-to-weight ratio. It is a strong metal with low density that is quite lustrous, and metallic-white in color. The relatively high melting point (more than 1,650 °C or 3,000 °F) makes it useful as a refractory. It is paramagnetic and has fairly low electrical, the conductivity (Heat conductivity ratio is 4.4% of copper, electric resistance is 5 times than iron). It is used to be manufactured as for precious exhaust pipe for motorcycles and other parts that require high anti-temperature performance and lightweight.





The 64TI (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium alloy consists of 90% titanium + 6%aluminum + 4%vanadium, normally we call it as 64Ti or Grade 5 titanium. The specific weight is 4.54.8, hardness is over HB195, tensile stress is 6861176MPa maximum could reach to 1764MP. Percentage of Area Reduction is 25%, normally under high temperature environment the titanium alloy still remains its stress property, and moreover its strength is stronger than that of at average temperature environment, also without losing its toughness as well.

The 64TI (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium alloy has higher strength, hardness, and anti-impact performance than pure titanium; due to its difficulty to refine, the price in market is almost 3 times than pure titanium. Furthermore, a few manufactures that produces cheap titanium products from uncertain material providers results in poor quality of products. For providing high quality product concern, we use high standard of material which approved from ASTM to ensure every customer purchase the highest quality of 64TI (Ti-6Al-4V) titanium alloy products.




Thanks to the highest strength and lightweight features, it has become one of the most desired parts in aftermarket. Most of the 64Ti bolts in the market are machined by the easily manufactured way of CNC cutting might resulted in the risk of breaking, despite of the strong and brittle property in average temperature environment.


Being broke through the predicament 30 years ago on account of that reason, we have successfully processed 64Ti bolt by fully forging. By providing products to local motorcycle race team for testing and the precise adjustment during processing, our hot and cold forging technique has become more reliable and stable that has allowed us made the tensile strength reach to Grade 10.9 which is higher than that of CNC cutting made (about Grade 7-8).




The inner material flow stress has its own texture; compared to the manufacture process between CNC machined and FFR (Fully Forged for Racing technique), the material flow stress (the left one) is pretty dispersive and easily to cause a weakness point. By means of FFR technique the material flow stress will be extensively retained; as a predictable result, the fatigue strength and shear strength are much better than CNC machined.



It is difficult to fully forge 64Ti due to its unique property and melting point, the high cost is one of the main reasons. So far few manufactures have made an appeal for their forged 64Ti bolts as a hot sale, but most of them the socket is CNC machined instead of the entire piece which the weakness point still remained. This is the easiest way to complete the forging process, we call it ‘’Half Forged’’, main strength is acceptable but still pretty far from our technique.


The PROTI fully forged 64Ti bolt is all fully forged in one piece from socket to body, keeping the material flow stress completed instead of cutting them off.

Normally, the CNC made surface of thread is very rough, and it is easy to be stuck with its mounting object. Unlike the majority titanium bolt in market, our thread of bolt is made by forging technique, not only the surface of thread is tough and smooth but also keeping the bolt from been stuck.
